The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced that it will contest all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab, as well as the Chandigarh seat. This decision came after it was reported that there would be no alliance between the AAP and Congress in Punjab. AAP Chief and दिल्ली CM Arvind Kejriwal made this announcement during a rally in Punjab, where he asked for the voters’ blessings. He also criticized the Congress and Akali Dal for their lack of achievements and highlighted the work done by the AAP in the past two years. The AAP has already declared candidates for some constituencies in Gujarat and Assam. The party expects the other parties in the INDIA bloc to accept its candidates. The AAP and Congress will fight separately in Punjab, while an alliance is still being considered in Delhi. Punjab Chief Minister Mann announced that the AAP would declare 13 candidates in Punjab and one in Chandigarh in the next 10 to 15 days. The AAP believes it can win all 14 seats and has decided to go it alone in Punjab to avoid leaving the opposition space open for the Akalis. The BJP is not considered a major factor in Punjab. Mann also criticized Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and countered the narrative that Punjab is being ruled from Delhi. Kejriwal and Mann launched the doorstep delivery of ration scheme in Fatehgarh, which is one of Kejriwal’s pet projects. The scheme aims to provide quality ration to the people and has been implemented in Punjab after facing objections in Delhi. Kejriwal expressed his hope that the scheme would be replicated across the country in the future.
