The school timings in Haryana have been revised by the education department for both government and private schools. The changes have been made in order to facilitate the smooth conduct of the board exams in 2024. The new timings will be effective from February 15. Single-shift schools will now operate from 8 am to 2:30 pm, while double-shift schools will have timings of 7 am to 12:30 pm and 12:45 pm to 6:15 pm.
A letter released by the Directorate of Education states that these changes have been implemented to ensure the successful completion of the annual examinations. It is important to note that the HBSE Class 12 board exams will take place between February 27 and April 2, 2024, while the HBSE Class 10 board exams will be held from February 27 to March 26, 2024.
Earlier, the Directorate of Education revised the operational timings for all schools in Haryana starting from November 15. Under the revised schedule, single-shift schools now operate from 09:30 am to 03:30 pm, while double-shift schools have timings of 7:55 am to 12:30 pm for the first shift and 12:40 pm to 5:15 pm for the second shift.
This decision was made in response to the severe air pollution in the National Capital Region, which led to the shift of school education to online platforms in рджрд┐рд▓реНрд▓реА, рдиреЛрдПрдбрд╛, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad.
