नया दिल्ली: Mumbai Indians (MI) have faced a series of setbacks in the आईपीएल 2025, with their most recent loss coming against RCB at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. RCB’s victory marked their first win at the Wankhede in a decade.
MI captain Hardik Pandya was visibly emotional after the narrow 12-run defeat, which pushed his team down to the eighth position on the points table. His brother and RCB all-rounder Krunal Pandya was there to comfort him, sharing a heartfelt moment on the field before the post-match presentation. The siblings then had a conversation on the ground.
“We both wanted to win, but in the end, only one Pandya could emerge victorious. Our bond is natural and filled with love and affection. Hardik played well, and I empathize with his situation,” said Krunal after the match.
Interestingly, Krunal played a crucial role in securing RCB’s win by defending 19 runs in the final over. He dismissed Mitchell Santner and Deepak Chahar in the first two deliveries and maintained his composure to seal the victory. Hardik initially appeared optimistic during the final over but soon realized the match was slipping away from MI’s grasp.
“We fell short by two hits, don’t know what to say. It came down to execution,” lamented Hardik.
Both the Pandya brothers shone brightly in the game, with Hardik scoring a quick 42 off 15 balls and taking two wickets, while Krunal’s four-wicket haul dented MI’s chase. MI will be aiming to bounce back after suffering consecutive losses by the same narrow margin.
