Prime Minister Unveils Solapur’s Rs. 2,000 Crore Urban Transformation

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi marked a significant milestone in urban development by laying the foundation stone for eight Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) projects, collectively valued at approximately Rs. 2,000 crores in Solapur, Maharashtra today. The event was a part of the Prime Minister’s visit to the region, where he also dedicated over 90,000 houses completed under the PMAY-Urban initiative in Maharashtra. Additionally, he inaugurated 15,000 houses in the Raynagar Housing Society in Solapur, benefiting a diverse group of recipients including handloom workers, vendors, power loom workers, rag pickers, bidi workers, drivers, among others.
During the program, Prime Minister Modi initiated the distribution of the first and second installments to 10,000 beneficiaries of PM-SVANIDHI in Maharashtra. Addressing the gathering, he expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the projects and credited the hard work of the people of Maharashtra and the efforts of the state government for the achievements in urban development.
Highlighting the upcoming Pran Pratishtha at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, Prime Minister Modi noted the spiritual significance of the event and mentioned the initiation of the 11-day anushthan in Panchwati, Nashik, Maharashtra. He expressed joy at more than one lakh families in Maharashtra performing ‘Grih Pravesh’ during this auspicious period.
The Prime Minister commended the completion of the largest society under the PM Awas Yojna and emotionally recalled his childhood dream of living in such homes. He assured that the government’s commitment to providing housing was being fulfilled, emphasizing that “Modi’s guarantee means fulfillment of guarantee.”
Reflecting on the impact of poverty on generations, Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence that the chain of suffering would break for those who received their houses, and future generations would not face similar hardships. He connected the upcoming lighting of Ram Jyoti on January 22 to an inspiration to combat the darkness of poverty.
Prime Minister Modi extended his wishes for the prosperity and happiness of the families receiving new homes and reiterated the government’s commitment to Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas. He highlighted the various schemes and initiatives aimed at poverty alleviation, such as One Nation One Ration Card, Ayushman Card, Jan Aushadhi Kendra, and the Jal Jeevan mission.
Emphasizing economic security for the poor, Prime Minister Modi spoke about life insurance schemes, bank assistance, and Jan Dhan Yojna. He acknowledged the success of the JAM trinity in eliminating fake beneficiaries and highlighted the government’s efforts to support the poor during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Turning to Solapur’s industrial significance, Prime Minister Modi discussed the PM Vishwakarma Scheme to support small industries, stressing the role of small and cottage industries in building an Aatmnirbhar Bharat. He credited campaigns like Vocal for Local and Made in India for enhancing the profile of Indian products globally.
In conclusion, Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence in India becoming one of the top three economies in the world during the current government’s third term. He recognized the developmental work taking place in cities like Solapur and assured continued blessings from the citizens for the government’s efforts. The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including the Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Ramesh Bais, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis and Shri Ajit Pawar, and Founder of Raynagar Federation, Shri Narsayya Adam.
