The administration has imposed Section 144 in the Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan in view of the farmers’ protest. Meanwhile, the routes to Punjab have been blocked. According to the police, the Punjab and Haryana borders will remain closed on 12th and 13th February. IG Om Prakash Passi is monitoring the situation. People have been urged not to travel on these routes. Contact has been made with the SPs of Sri Ganganagar, Anupgarh, and Hanumangarh. 10 checkpoints have been set up. In view of the participation of farmers in the protest at the Delhi border on the call of farmer organizations, the administration has imposed Section 144 in the Sri Ganganagar and Anupgarh districts. The administration believes that the situation may escalate during the proposed India Bandh on 16th February along with the farmers’ program to go to Delhi. Therefore, a prohibition order has been issued.

The administration has sealed the Punjab border considering the law and order situation. Traffic has been diverted on some routes. District Collector and District Magistrate of Sri Ganganagar, Anshdeep, and Anupgarh Collector Anshdeep have issued a prohibition order using the powers provided under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973, which will be effective from 6 p.m. on 11th February to midnight on 20th February. During this time, gatherings of 20 or more people will not be allowed at any public place. No meeting, procession, road march, or any other event organized by any organization will be allowed without the permission of the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate. No person will assemble any crowd or use loudspeakers, hold protests, blockades, or any other means to gather a human group at any place. If anyone wants to use them, they will obtain permission from the relevant Sub-Divisional Magistrate. The use of sound amplification devices (DJ) will not be allowed between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

No person will engage in any propaganda that creates hatred towards other religions, sects, or communities. Individuals who are the heads of any organization or officials of institutions that may endanger public peace and the lives of residents of the Sri Ganganagar area will be prohibited from entering the district from outside the state. Restrictions will be imposed on blocking any route. The carrying of any kind of firearms such as revolvers, pistols, guns, swords, axes, deadly and sharp weapons, sticks, etc., outside their homes is completely prohibited. Sikh tradition individuals will be exempted from keeping a designated dagger according to religious tradition. This order does not apply to police, government officials, security forces, and officers related to law and order. Violation of the order will be punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
