The ‘Delhi Chalo’ march by farmer leaders enters its third day, with talks scheduled between farmer leaders and Union ministers in Chandigarh. The Punjab-Haryana border remains tense. The protestors at the Shambhu border were given two options – to continue pressing for their demands or return to the table for further discussions. They have decided to refrain from advancing towards Delhi until the meeting with the Union ministers, unless there is tear gas shelling from Haryana’s side. Additionally, the Bharatiya Kisan Union-Ugrahan (BKU-Ugrahan) plans to block railway tracks in Punjab as a show of solidarity with the farmers marching towards Delhi. The government has invited farmer leaders for a third round of talks to address their demands for a law on minimum support price (MSP) for crops and loan waivers.
