Amritsar: The Punjab Government launched a global campaign to promote the state as a tourism hub, and to kick off this initiative, the seven-day Rangla Punjab Mela was held in Amritsar with great fervor. The event began with a vibrant function at Khalsa College, where renowned Bollywood singer Sukhwinder set the tone for the fair. Over the next six days, various artists will showcase their talents at the fair.
A carnival parade was a highlight of the Rangla Punjab Fair in Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar, aimed at showcasing the rich heritage of Punjab. The parade featured performances highlighting Punjabi culture, including traditional dances like Gidha and Bhangra. The energetic Gabharu dancers performed the lively Bhangra dance, captivating the audience with their rhythmic movements and celebrating Punjab’s cultural legacy. The parade saw youth dressed in Punjabi attire riding Bullet motorcycles, accompanied by floats representing Punjab, horse carriages, tractor trolleys, and traditional folk musicians from Khalsa College Amritsar. The city residents cheered the parade as it passed through the streets.
Deputy Commissioner Amritsar, Ghansham Thori, commended Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for his efforts in serving the people of Punjab. He mentioned that the Rangla Punjab Fair will run until February 29th, featuring performances by renowned Punjabi singers to entertain the attendees.
