
Patna, January 21, 2024: Today, Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar inaugurated the Shri Ram Janaki Medical College and Hospital in Sarai Ranjan, Samastipur district, constructed at a cost of 591 crores. This 500-bed hospital is equipped with modern facilities for medical treatment. It will annually admit 100 medical students. The Shri Ram Janaki Medical College and Hospital is earthquake-resistant and constructed as a green building. Accommodation arrangements have been made within the hospital premises for the superintendent, principal, doctors, staff, and students. A hostel has also been provided for the relatives of patients.
After inaugurating the Shri Ram Janaki Medical College and Hospital, the Chief Minister inspected various sections of the hospital. Following this, a meeting was held in the conference hall where the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Mr. Pratyay Amrit, briefed the Chief Minister on the construction work and facilities at Shri Ram Janaki Medical College and Hospital. During the meeting, a short film based on the hospital was presented.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister stated that the hospital has been equipped with modern medical facilities and is a beautiful establishment. The inauguration today brings great joy, and he has been observing the construction work here for some time.
With the inauguration, the hospital has commenced providing medical services to patients. The people of this region will no longer need to go elsewhere for their treatment. All kinds of facilities will be available to the patients here. The land for the construction of this hospital was donated by the Shri Ram Janaki Math, hence the hospital is named Shri Ram Janaki Medical College and Hospital. The central government has also contributed to the construction of this hospital. While it currently has a capacity of 500 beds, plans are in place to expand it to a 1000-bed hospital in the future, and the number of medical students will also be increased.
Following the inauguration, the Chief Minister addressed the public in a meeting held at Shri Ram Janaki College Hospital premises. He expressed happiness that the hospital has been inaugurated today and emphasized that all types of medical facilities will be available here, eliminating the need for people to travel for treatment. He congratulated everyone present for this significant achievement. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Finance, Commerce, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Vijay Kumar Chaudhary also spoke at the event.
On this occasion, Central Home State Minister Shri Nityanand Rai, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Finance, Commerce, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Education Minister Shri Alok Kumar Mehta, Deputy Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly Shri Maheshwar Hazari, Member of Parliament Shri Ramnath Thakur, MLAs Shri Ajay Kumar, Shri Rajesh Singh, Shri Ranvijay Sah, Shri Veerendra Paswan, Shri Akhtarul Islam Shahin, former MP Smt. Ashwamedh Devi, and other dignitaries were present. The event was attended by officials, including the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department Shri Pratyay Amrit, Chief Special Officer of the Chief Minister Shri Gopal Singh, Director General of Bihar Medical Services and Basic Infrastructure Corporation Limited Shri Dinesh Kumar, District Magistrate of Darbhanga Shri Manish Kumar, and Deputy Inspector General of Police in the Darbhanga region Shri Babu Ram. Shri Vinay Tiwari, Superintendent of Police in Samastipur, Shri Yogendra Singh, and Dr. Alka Jha, Director of Shri Ram Janaki Hospital and College, along with Principal Dr. Abharani Sinha, and other respected officials and dignitaries were also present.
