The Meteorological Department reported that Punjab and Haryana continued to experience cold wave conditions on Thursday, with minimum temperatures remaining below the seasonal average. Chandigarh, the shared capital of both states, recorded a minimum temperature of 7 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below normal. Amritsar also saw a drop in temperature to 4.1 degrees Celsius, while Ludhiana and Patiala reported minimum temperatures of 6.9 and 6.2 degrees Celsius, respectively. Other cities in Punjab, including Pathankot, Bathinda, Faridkot, and Gurdaspur, also experienced cold weather conditions with temperatures ranging from 3.9 to 6.4 degrees Celsius. In Haryana, Ambala recorded a minimum temperature of 7.6 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal, while Hisar reported a minimum of 7.5 degrees Celsius. Karnal, Narnaul, Rohtak, Bhiwani, and Sirsa registered minimum temperatures of 5.8, 9, 8.4, 8.3, and 8.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.
