For the first time in Rajasthan, the impact of cold weather is being felt even in the second week of February. The presence of moisture in the air and the flow of wind from the east is causing a sense of chill. The recent occurrence of western disturbance has brought about a significant change in the weather. The clouds and the wind have resulted in January-like cold in February. Although the sun shines during the day, the cold persists in the evenings and nights.
The temperature in half of Rajasthan has dropped below 10 degrees Celsius. Even though the western disturbance became inactive two days after its activation on January 3, its effect is still being felt. Due to this disturbance, fog covered several states in northern India and there was rainfall along with hailstorms. Rajasthan also witnessed its widespread impact, although the northern and western districts experienced it more. In Jaipur, although the sun came out on Friday morning, the minimum temperature remained at 11 degrees Celsius. On Thursday, the minimum temperature in more than half of the districts in the state was recorded below 10 degrees Celsius.
