In the Ranji Trophy Group A game against Jharkhand at Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur, Haryana had a strong start as opener Ankit Kumar scored a century and Himanshu Rana and Rahul Tewatia both reached half-centuries. By the end of the first day’s play, Haryana had scored 338 runs for the loss of six wickets in 89 overs. Tewatia and Sumit Kumar were at the crease, having added an unbeaten partnership of 67 runs for the seventh wicket. Jharkhand’s Anukul Roy and Utkarsh Singh took two wickets each, while Shahbaz Nadeem and Saurabh Shekhar claimed one wicket each. Haryana chose to bat first and got off to a good start before losing Mayank Shandilya in the 12th over. Ankit Kumar and Himanshu Rana then built a partnership of 145 runs for the second wicket. Rana scored 82 runs off 116 balls with 12 fours before getting out to Nadeem. Nishant Sindhu joined Kumar and together they added 49 runs for the third wicket before Sindhu was dismissed by Roy. Three balls later, Kumar also got out after scoring a century. Haryana lost four quick wickets, but Tewatia and Sumit Kumar steadied the innings and guided Haryana to their total at the close of play. The current score is Haryana 338/6.
