Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar Emphasizes Haryana’s Strong Identity
In Kaithal, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar emphasized that Haryana’s identity is closely linked with “dhakkad kisan, jawan and pehalwan” (strong farmers, soldiers, and wrestlers). He highlighted the state’s commitment to promoting sports infrastructure and securing athletes’ future by providing financial aid and job reservations under categories A, B, and C. Addressing as the chief guest at the “Sansad Khel-Kood Spardha” event, Khattar encouraged athletes to compete with a spirit of sportsmanship.
He mentioned that Haryana currently has 1,100 sports nurseries in operation, with plans to open 400 more in the upcoming budget. The chief minister also emphasized Haryana’s highest cash rewards for international sports winners, with Olympic gold medalists receiving Rs 6 crore, the highest in the country.
Furthermore, he highlighted the provision of job reservations for athletes in government positions to ensure their financial stability.
Currently, 500 positions under categories A, B, and C have been created, with 223 positions already filled. Additionally, 13,000 Group D positions will soon be announced, with 1,300 jobs reserved for sportspersons.
