India tour of Zimbabwe: The Zimbabwean cricket team is set to face off against the Indian men’s team in a five-match T20I series from July 6 to July 14. This will mark India’s return to T20Is in Zimbabwe after their last tour to the country in 2016 for a three-match series.

The series is scheduled to begin just a week after the conclusion of the 2024 T20 World Cup, which will be hosted by West Indies and USA.

In a statement, BCCI secretary Jay Shah expressed the board’s commitment to supporting fellow member boards and contributing to the global cricketing community. He also acknowledged that Zimbabwe Cricket is in a rebuilding phase and stated that the BCCI will do its best to strengthen bilateral cricket and make it commercially viable.

This will be India’s fourth tour to Zimbabwe for a T20I series, having previously visited in 2010, 2015, and 2016.

Zimbabwe Cricket Chairman Tavengwa Mukuhlani expressed his excitement for the upcoming series, calling it their “biggest international attraction” at home this year. He thanked the BCCI for their commitment to tour Zimbabwe and stated that this series holds great significance as the country works towards establishing itself as a strong force in international cricket.

The series, which is scheduled for July, will consist of five matches to be played at the Harare Sports Club.
