The state government has made a decision to provide 21 different types of allowances to judicial officers. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath approved this proposal via cabinet circulation on Wednesday. Subsequently, the Personnel Department issued a government order.
This provision has been implemented based on the recommendations put forth by the National Judicial Pay Commission for active judicial officers, retired judicial officers, and pensioners. Notably, judicial officers will receive a child education allowance to support the education of their two children up to intermediate level. They will receive Rs 2250 as allowance and Rs 6750 as hostel grant every month.
Other allowances that will be provided include house construction advance allowance, additional charges allowance, vehicle transport allowance, and dearness allowance. Additionally, there will be extra allowance for encashment of earned leave, electricity and water charges, high qualification allowance, and those serving in remote or hilly areas. They will receive Rs 5000 per month. An allowance of Rs 10,000 per month will be given for hiring domestic help.
House rent allowance, furniture and air condition allowance, house maintenance allowance, leave travel concession allowance will also be included. Moreover, medical allowance, medical facilities allowance, allowance for subscribing to newspapers and magazines, clothing allowance, special allowance for administrative tasks, hospitality allowance, and allowance for telephone and mobile expenses at home will be provided. Transfer grant will also be given to judicial officers.
