Amidst the split in the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the ongoing dispute over rights over the party, NCP leader Supriya Sule, daughter of Sharadchandra Pawar, visited her brother Ajit Pawar, who is the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. A meeting was convened by Ajit Pawar to address the water scarcity issue in Western Maharashtra. The delegation included MLAs Rohit Pawar and Rajesh Tope.
Following the meeting, Sule commented, “The water crisis for drinking and irrigation is critical. I met with Ajit Pawar to update him on the water shortage in my constituency of Baramati in Pune district. Rajesh Tope also discussed the issues in his area of Ghansawangi with him.”
NCP leader Sharadchandra Pawar stated to the press, “There is no need for extensive discussion about the meeting. I also engage with BJP ministers in Delhi. The Ujani and Najare dams in my constituency are running low on water. I have urged the state government to take necessary relief measures.”
