In Himachal Pradesh, on March 3, all children under the age of five will receive the polio vaccine through health centers, booths, and mobile teams. The target is to vaccinate 59 lakh, 65 thousand 170 children through 5,870 booths and 257 mobile teams in the state. Special attention will be given to vaccinating the children of migrant workers. This information was shared by Health Secretary M Sudha Devi. Sudha chaired a meeting on Friday to discuss preparations for the vaccination drive on March 3, which marks the National Pulse Polio Vaccination Day in Shimla.
Highlighting the significance of the National Pulse Polio Vaccination, M Sudha Devi emphasized that the state government is committed to ensuring the health of children in Himachal Pradesh. Success of this campaign will rely on meticulous planning and the support of Asha workers and other healthcare professionals. The campaign will also include BCG vaccination for 2,64,426 individuals in Bilaspur, Kangra, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmaur, and Una districts, which plays a crucial role in preventing TB.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held with departmental officers regarding the preparations for the National Polio Campaign and Adult BCG Vaccination. Dr. Sanjay Ranaut presented on Pulse Polio Vaccination and Dr. Ravidra presented on Adult BCG. Director of Health Services, Dr. Gopal Beri, Director of National Health Mission Priyanka Verma, and other officials were also in attendance.
