Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is set to join the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi in Moradabad on Saturday. She will be part of the campaign in various districts of Uttar Pradesh over the weekend, including Sambhal, Amroha, Bulandshahr, Hathras, Aligarh, Agra, and Fatehpur Sikri.
According to a statement from Ms. Vadra’s office, “Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi will accompany Rahul Gandhi on the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra starting on February 24, 2024. They will travel together from Moradabad through Amroha, Sambhal, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Hathras, Agra, and conclude at Fatehpur Sikri.” In Moradabad district, Muslims make up a significant portion of the population, accounting for approximately 48% of the total residents.
Prior to this, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had planned to participate in the yatra’s entry into Uttar Pradesh via Chandauli on February 16 but was unable to do so due to illness and subsequent hospitalization. She expressed her disappointment in a post, stating, “I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the BJNY in Uttar Pradesh today, but unfortunately, I have been admitted to the hospital. I will join as soon as I am better! Meanwhile, I wish all the Yatris, my colleagues in UP who have worked tirelessly to organize the yatra, and my dear brother all the best as they reach Chandauli today,”
Additionally, Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav will join the yatra in Agra on February 25. Rahul Gandhi’s journey, aimed at advocating for economic, social, and political justice for all Indians, began from Manipur and has covered 15 states so far. The yatra entered Uttar Pradesh through Chandauli on February 16, spending approximately a week in the politically crucial state that sends 80 MPs to Parliament.
