The government of Gujarat responded to a question in the Gujarat assembly, stating that 12 districts in the state still lack government-run blood banks. MLA Gulabsinh Chauhan asked the question, and the government informed him that the process of obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to establish blood banks has been initiated for Amreli, Anand, Botad, Gir Somnath, Narmada, and Navsari districts. Additionally, efforts are underway to procure equipment for blood banks in Aravalli, Chhota Udepur, Dang, Mahisagar, Tapi, and Daho d districts. Health Minister Rushikesh Patel mentioned that there are currently 193 operational blood banks in the state, thanks to a collaborative effort between the government, voluntary organizations, and trusts.
