New Delhi: Once again, the weather in North India has taken a turn, with the impact of snowfall in the mountains now becoming evident in the plains. The Delhi-NCR region has suddenly experienced a drop in temperature with strong winds, while rain showers have been reported in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has forecasted light to moderate rain and isolated thunderstorms in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and the possibility of thunderstorms in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday. According to IMD, some states in the country will experience dense clouds and light rain in various areas throughout the day.
The Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds at isolated locations in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, parts of Uttarakhand, and North Maharashtra over the next 2-3 hours. Light to moderate rain is expected in these areas. The IMD also mentioned the likelihood of lightning and rain in several districts of Madhya Pradesh, including Bhopal, Vidisha, and Jabalpur, with wind speeds reaching 50 to 70 km per hour. Meanwhile, the sky is expected to remain clear in Delhi-NCR today.
As per the weather information provided by Skymet Weather, regions like southern Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Vidarbha, Jharkhand, and Bengal, apart from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, may experience light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds at speeds of 30 to 40 km per hour. Furthermore, there may be moderate rain and snowfall in certain areas of the Western Himalayas. Light rain is also possible in the southern parts of Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
It is worth mentioning that light to moderate rain and snowfall were observed in Jammu and Kashmir and surrounding areas on Tuesday. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand experienced light rain and snowfall at isolated spots. Additionally, scattered hailstorms with light to moderate rain affected southern Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha, while western parts of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, North Madhya Pradesh, parts of Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan received light rain.
