Following a 10 percent increase in honorarium for UPNL employees, the government has now directed for the reinstatement of dismissed employees within a month. In the issued instructions by Secretary Deependra Kumar Chaudhary, it was emphasized that UPNL employees should be reinstated if they are not found guilty of misconduct, indiscipline, or incompetence. The state currently has 25 thousand UPNL employees.
The employees recently went on strike demanding various rights, including a raise in honorarium. Following their agitation, their honorarium was increased by 10 percent, and now orders have been given to reinstate employees who were unjustly dismissed. Secretary Sainik Welfare mentioned that some UPNL employees are being terminated without valid reasons in certain departments.
It was stated that the dismissed employees should be reinstated within a month if they reapply. The department and appointed officers will bear the responsibility for hiring these employees. The government has sent a letter to the Managing Director of Ex-Servicemen Corporation, all department heads, divisional commissioners, and secretaries regarding this matter.
