In Jodhpur, the state youth affairs and sports minister, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, questioned the effectiveness of the rural and urban Olympics organized by the previous Congress government. He pointed out that these games did not contribute any talent or players to the state, nor did they provide any certificates that could be useful for job opportunities.
Additionally, no sports infrastructure or stadiums were created through these Olympics. Rathore criticized the extravagant expenditure of Rs 200 crore on these events, stating that it surpassed the entire budget of the sports ministry by four times. In contrast, Rathore highlighted his own initiatives in which he built several stadiums for only Rs. 33 crore, with half the funds coming from the government and the other half from CSR funds.
He emphasized his commitment to judiciously spending government funds and utilizing contributions from CSR and other sources. Rathore also criticized the previous government for their self-interest and last-minute implementation of various schemes.
